This Acceptable Use Policy (the "AUP") sets out what you may and may not do when using the Services. It is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service, and breaking it is a breach of the Terms. Capitalized terms that are not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms.
Who this applies to
This policy applies to you, to everyone who uses the Services through your account or workspace, and to all content and data that you and your users upload, store, send, or generate through the Services. You are responsible for making sure the people you give access to follow this policy, and for the content your users submit.
Prohibited content
You must not use the Services to upload, host, store, share, or distribute content that:
- Is illegal, or promotes, facilitates, or gives instructions for illegal activity.
- Sexually exploits or endangers minors in any way. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material: we remove it, terminate the responsible accounts, preserve relevant records, and report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and to law enforcement as required by law.
- Infringes the intellectual-property rights of others, including copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets. Copyright complaints are handled under our DMCA and Copyright Policy at /legal/dmca.
- Is real-world sexually explicit or pornographic material. Real-life pornography and sexual content are not permitted on the Services, whether or not they would be legal elsewhere. This restriction is about real-world content, not games: screenshots, recordings, and footage of mature or adult-rated video games are allowed. The ban on content that sexually exploits minors, above, always applies, in any form.
- Is hateful, or that harasses, threatens, demeans, or incites violence or hatred against people based on who they are.
- Promotes, encourages, or gives instructions for violence, terrorism, or self-harm.
- Reveals other people's private or personal information without their consent, including doxxing.
- Contains malware, exploits, cheats, or tools whose main purpose is to attack, cheat in, or gain unauthorized access to games, services, or systems.
- Is deceptive or fraudulent, or is designed to phish or to steal credentials or money.
- Is unsolicited bulk content or spam.
Prohibited behaviour
You must not use the Services to:
- Harass, threaten, stalk, bully, or impersonate any person or organization.
- Circumvent, or attempt to circumvent, our security, authentication, or access controls.
- Access, probe, or scan the Services or other users' accounts or data without authorization, or scrape the Services in ways we have not allowed.
- Disrupt, overload, or impair the Services or the infrastructure that runs them, including through denial-of-service attacks or excessive automated requests.
- Interfere with other users' use of the Services.
- Violate the privacy or rights of others, or collect data about people unlawfully.
- Use the Services for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of any law that applies to you.
Platform and usage abuse
The Services are licensed for your own use under your plan. You must not:
- Share, resell, sublicense, or transfer your access, accounts, or API tokens to anyone else.
- Use a single account, project, or token to provide the Services to unrelated third parties, for example by reselling hosting, delivery, or log-ingest capacity.
- Circumvent, disable, or work around quotas, rate limits, usage limits, or the limits of your plan.
- Create multiple accounts or organizations to evade limits, bans, trials, or pricing.
- Copy, reverse-engineer, or use the Services to build or operate a competing product.
- Run automated activity that abuses the Services or is designed to take more than your plan allows.
Your responsibilities as an operator
If you use the Services to run your own community or service, you are responsible for what happens on it. You must have a lawful basis for the data you collect through the Services, give your own users any notices and obtain any consents the law requires, and moderate the content and conduct you allow. You remain the controller of your End-User Data and responsible for it, as described in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations of this policy and take any action we consider appropriate, as described under "Content moderation and enforcement" in our Terms of Service. This includes removing or disabling content, limiting or throttling usage, suspending or terminating accounts or workspaces, banning repeat offenders, and reporting activity to law enforcement. We may act immediately and without prior notice where the law requires it, where there is a risk of harm, or where a violation is severe. If you believe we have taken action in error, contact us and we will review it.
Reporting abuse
To report content or behaviour that breaks this policy, email us at [email protected] with enough detail to identify the content or account, including links or other references where possible. For copyright infringement, use the process in our DMCA and Copyright Policy at /legal/dmca instead. If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first; we cooperate with law enforcement on illegal activity.
