GLOSSARY · MODERATION

Evidence file

A file (clip, screenshot, log export) attached to a moderation case as proof of the in-game event being investigated.

Every reasonable moderation case has at least one attached evidence file. Without one, the case is one person's word against another's. The challenge is durability: evidence files attached to Discord threads die when the thread rolls, when the channel is purged, or when a staffer accidentally deletes the message

The fix is hosting evidence on a CDN you own with a retention policy you control, and linking it from the case file itself. ServerOps Cases pulls attachments straight from Media and keeps them linked together for the lifetime of the case.
